To All our Wonderful Pet Parents,
AMC of Garner has always worked hard to make sure we are keeping up with the needs of a growing community. We are honored to be entrusted with the care of so many of your furry family members. But, as our schedule becomes fuller and appointment times harder to find, we want to continue to make sure your pets can get the timely care they need.
Over the past couple of years, we have seen a significant increase in last minute appointment cancellations and clients who simply do not show up to their appointments. This means that valuable appointment slots are being wasted instead of being available for you and your pets when you need them. This is especially discouraging when we know in all likelihood that these wasted appointment times could have been used for an animal that needed swift, time sensitive attention. To discourage this behavior, and ensure that our sweet patients are receiving the care that they need, AMC of Garner has decided to institute a new appointment non-refundable deposit policy which will go into effect starting November 1, 2024. We have held out on instituting this change, however, we now feel that we need to join the ranks of the majority of pet hospitals across the country (as well as human clinics, hair salons, groomers, etc.) and make this change. These new deposits will apply only to the following situations:
- New Clients: anyone booking an appointment with AMC for the first time will pay a deposit equal to the cost of an examination. Appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the appointment time to redeem the deposit fee amount. Our current clients will not need to pay this fee.
- Surgery Appointments: all surgery appointments will need to pay a deposit fee of $200 at the time of booking. Surgery appointments must be cancelled at least 48 hours prior the appointment to redeem the deposit.
- Emergency Appointments: All walk-in emergency visits will be required to pay a $300 deposit. Our staff will begin all necessary lifesaving treatment as immediately, but the deposit must be paid prior to any diagnostics and advanced procedures being performed. We know this is a big change and one that we don’t take lightly. However, we feel strongly that this new policy will help ensure that we can continue to provide timely, highly quality care to you and your pets.
